MAYLENE and the SONS of DISASTER Complete Video for “Dry the River”

Hard-rocking Birmingham, AL band MAYLENE and the SONS of DISASTER have completed work on the first music video from their much-talked-about new album “MAYLENE and the SONS of DISASTER: II”.

The video, for the album's roll-out track “Dry the River” was filmed at the wondrous Sanna Ranch in Agua Dulce, CA, which has previously served as the film location for the motion pictures “Bones” and “Prime Evil”. The “Dry the River” video was helmed by Directors Andrew Paul Bowser and David Kalani (Armor for Sleep, Butch Walker, Gym Class Heroes) and tells the story of “the last night for a gang of criminals” (as portrayed by the members of MAYLENE and the SONS of DISASTER) whose “lucky streak has finally come to an end.” Exclusive still shots from the “Dry the River” video, which will make its world network and viral premieres shortly, can be viewed at this location http://action-pr.com/maylenevideo/.

“The 'Dry The River' video was based on the layout of the our new album “II”, and it turned out amazing,” MAYLENE and the SONS of DISASTER vocalist Dallas Taylor explains. “To me it feels like watching a short film and I don't think it could have turned out any better – I am so proud of it. The experience was like being a part of something more that just a music video. We put ourselves through a lot of difficult things, like standing in 40 degree water for an extended periods of time, falling down hills and being dragged over rocks. I believe that all of the hard work we put in, coupled with the vision of Directors Andrew Bowser and David Kalani will ensure that this video comes across as more of an 'experience' for the viewer.”
Released via New Jersey's Ferret Music, “MAYLENE and the SONS of DISASTER: II” is an album that is conceptual in nature, expounding on the true tales of 1920's gangster Ma Barker and her prohibition era real-life crime family. The record's gritty musical shootouts are filled with intricate guitar riffing and whiskey drenched grooves, while the lyrics take your imagination back to a time when the exploits of gangs of criminals gripped the American people and press. The album has met to shining critical acclaim in the weeks since its release and debuted at # 156 on Billboard's Top 200 chart with first week sales of nearly 6,000 copies.
