SICARIUS return with third album “Nex” via ADIRONDACK BLACK MASS

ADIRONDACK BLACK MASS present the long-awaited third full-length from American black metal force SICARIUS, titled “Nex”, set for release on April 10, 2026 on CD and cassette formats.

From Death to Rebirth

Formed in 2014 by Argyris and Carnage, SICARIUS emerged with a clear mission: to channel the violent spirit and fury of black metal. Drawing inspiration from both first- and second-wave legends across Scandinavia, Greece, and the US, the band forged a sound blending black metal with thrash, death metal, goth, and rock influences.

After early releases like the “Scorch the Earth” demo (2015) and their debut album “Serenade of Slitting Throats”, produced by Mick Kenney, the band quickly gained recognition, sharing stages with acts such as 1349, Goatwhore, Vader, Marduk, Disgorge, and Incantation.

Their second album “God of Dead Roots”, released during the pandemic, marked the end of an era — followed by lineup changes and eventual disbandment.

SICARIUS was dead.

The Return – “Nex”

After years of silence, Argyris and Carnage reunited and resurrected the band, rebuilding it from the ground up. The result is “Nex” — a 10-track concept album described as a gritty, ultraviolent crime drama fueled by themes of death, loss, retribution, and fury.

The album draws influence from legends such as Bathory, Rotting Christ, Dissection, Mayhem, Urgehal, Marduk, and Absu, while also incorporating darker melodic elements reminiscent of Type O Negative.

A key addition to this new era is vocalist Akefalos, whose soaring and dynamic vocal performance replaces longtime frontman K. Karcass, adding a new dimension to the band’s sound.

Legacy & Evolution

In late 2024, SICARIUS also contributed to the split “We’ll Meet You Where the Ravens Circle” alongside Withermoon, revisiting and reimagining material from their early demo era — further bridging their past and present.

Now, with “Nex”, the band fully embraces both tradition and evolution, delivering a record that stands as the culmination of their destruction and rebirth.
