THREE DEAD FINGERS is the young, promising Swedish band – what promoters and various media emphasize… When they started the band in 2015, the boys were 10-11 years old. Then they released a few songs until the first album “Breed of The Devil” appeared in 2019 and as far as I know it was very well received. Of course, then there were concerts and festivals (in Poland they already played as 15-16 year olds)…
Meanwhile, Art Gates Records released their second album, released in December 2021…
Indeed, this album is very ambitious. I will not compare to the previous one, because I do not know it…
The material is very rich in various extreme Metal motifs. On the one hand, the songs are very heavy, dynamic and aggressive, and on the other – melodic and quite often catchy, emotional. Although the whole thing sounds like Melodic Thrash Death Metal when describing the music of young Metal artists, this term definitely does not expend possibilities of the album and what we can hear on it.
Namely, describing in detail, the musicians boldly got from many genres, such as Groove Metal, Thrash Metal, Slamming Death Metal, or Alternative Metal, and even Metalcore. As a result, a very interesting and dynamic mixture was created, in which the above-mentioned genres were freely combined, intertwined or simultaneously used… Some patents are really great, strongly stimulate, mercilessly crush, strongly grab the throat or the heart, and in turn other topics can resemble something, some famous band.
So the guitars ares rich, the riffs have no limits, from mega heavy or fast to slow massive licks, from low crushing sounds to clean sounds (and not only in style of Metal, also incidentally Jazz or Classic).
Vocally, also with many colors… Grave and stertorous growls, Core screams, and even pure singing (even ballad-like).
THREE DEAD FINGERS has great potential.
