LUNAR ECLIPSE are not rookies on the metal scene – they have performed since 1996, and recorded six albums, including two long plays ‘Chapter Omega’ and ‘Morbid visions’. This member of the German death metal scene is a project, containing musicians playing mainly in this band. Throughout years the group had some changes in the line up, especially in 1996-97, when the major part of the band has been changed. Since 2000, the squad has remained the same.

Something for fans of very filthy death metal. ‘Morbid Visions’ offer a huge dose of raw power, served on a very filthy plate. The compositions do not come from only one bag and cannot be put in to one drawer. Everything changes here, not quickly, but some time is essential to notice and eventually feel those variations. As in excellent ‘Rise of the Undead’ or ‘The Reaper’, or psychedelic-like ‘The End of Harmony’ and ‘Misanthropy’. The tracks differ a lot from each other, there is no place for repetition, hence boredom is a very alienated feeling here. There are moments when this death metal reaches the sublime level of melodic and technical death. What is also interesting, the melodic line is led by very low-tuned filthy riffs, which drag the sound on the floor, which creates an extremely fascinating feeling, of an adventure with the creation of death metal music – the one, which would never be forgotten, as those motifs simply burn their marks in the memory.

LUNAR ECLIPSE released a fascinating mixture of technical, melodic and filthy death metal. Those not clear melodic lines, raw in sound quality, create a fantastic feeling in assisting in the process of giving birth to the music. This album will reassure LUNAR ECLIPSE’s position on the German metal scene.
