LAMB OF GOD

After spending most of this year covering my other passion in music, that being the Gothic Industrial scene, it would be good to get back to the metal pit for a good war. That's what I anticipated from the start here and that's what I got. A sold out Roseland for Lamb Of God. F**k Yeah!! War on the freakin' floor at The Roseland! I didn't know till I picked up my son and got to my best friend and assistant photographer, Donna's house that the doors opened at 5:30. Five freakin' thirty!!! On a Thursday. Add to the fact, the traffic was heavy and trains delayed…so yeah, by the time we got in the Roseland, Machine Head was ending their set. We charged in and caught the last few songs, and from the roaring crowd knew it must've been an awesome set. Shiiiiaatttt! I was pissed. I freakin' love Machine Head.

Trivium was coming on next and I don't freakin' love them, so I took the time to get some water and bring Donna some up front, since we rushed in and didn't get any water. I had a photo pass for the show which I gave to her to go around the barrier and get close ups, while I get live shots from the crowd. Much thanks to Jensen at Adrenaline PR for hookin' me up once again. He rules. When Trivium was almost done, I parted ways from Donna and shuffled into the middle of the floor and began making my way up to the front for LOG.

The crowd was huge. A thousands deep pit. War on the freakin' floor. The Mighty Lamb Of God hit the stage with “Ashes Of the Wake” and pandemonium ensued. It was great to be sahhhwettin' and stompin' on the Roseland floor again. They kicked into new ones “Walk With Me In Hell” and “Again We Rise” and the surfin' safari had begun! Kids flyin' freakin' everywhere. “Ruin”, “Pathetic”, “Laid To Rest”…..there was no more roof!!!!! Lamb Of God is on freakin' top of the world!!! This is the shiiiiaaaattt!!!!! They did almost the entire new album and blew out the walls! Old shit, “As The Palaces Burn”, “11th Hour”. “Bloodletting” from the BTP days. I was flyin' around snappin' pics and sweatin' my ass off. Donna was right up against the stage snappin' some amazing pics. “NOW – YOU'VE – GOT – SOMETHING – TO – DIE – FOOOOOOOOOOOOOOR!!!!!!! My son comes crashing down on my head and I snap a pic of him as he flies by. Freakin' crazeeeee!!! They do “Redneck” and I join my son in a thousands deep freakin' floorwide cyclone pit!!! F**k Yeah!! Then, Randy says they don't do encores so this is the last one and everyone knew what it was and what to do. The packed floor seperates automatically without even a word from the singer. They explode into “Black Label” and The Wall Of Death charges and crashes into each other. A sea of arms and legs and bodies flying about. Sick mutha freakin' shiiiaaatttt!!! An absoultely amazing performance by a band that now owns the extreme Metal world!!! It was a dripping wet sweat, war on the floor at The Roseland and the best time I've had all year, so far.
