DARK SKY, NASTY HABBITS, THE PAST ALIVE

Ludwigsburg, a rainy Sunday evening in Germany. The rain is falling on the roof of the Club 2 of the RockFabrik and THE PAST ALIVE, who played for TALES OF TWILIGHT rocked the hall. With their mixture of fast melodic metal with a bit of thrash the four guys unfortunately had just a few maniacs in front of the stage at 9 pm. But they didn´t seem to be sad about that and anyway they played their asses off. With a nice loudness, a good sound and the same good light the four dudes offered nice metal, for example with the track Coma. Jürgen made us happy with his bass playing standing in the audience, mainly in front of his little daughter 🙂 Best was a medley of Metallica´s For whom the bell tolls/Master of puppets/Harvester of sorrow/Seek and destroy/Creeping death. Afterwards they played a song of the new album: What you need. THE PAST ALIVE = Suat, Micha, Jürgen and Nik were shining with a finish after 45 minutes with an instrumental track. Dark Sky-Claudio was right: Very good band!

NASTY HABITS did their introduction with Dio´s Holy Diver. With that they could bring the very clear (said singer Michael Schneider) audience to applause. Right through all of the genres is BAD HABITS work: Pink (Trouble, sung by female singer Ina Hauser) to Bon Jovi (Runaway) and Manowar (Warriors of the world) to art (due to the male singer): own compositions. Pretty the whole band are multi-instrumentalists: bassists plays guitar, singer plays bass guitar… Not bad!

DARK SKY, melodic rock, also from Germany, opened their set around 11:15 pm with the song Escaped. Unfortunately the five guys had bad luck with the audience. The later the evening, the less the people… That is a pity, because DARK SKY have got a new album out: Living & Dying. The band (Frank Breuninger/vocals, Steffen Doll/guitars, Winny Zurek/bass, Uwe Mayer/drums and Claudio Nobile/keyboards) introduced the rest of the people, but with a few problems. No, I don´t want to say that they are bad on stage. No, even the other way around: Melodic rock from Germany is great Sometimes they belong to the genre of old Pink Cream 69, then more to Crystal Ball from Switzerland. DARK SKY tried to give their best and do the best with this situation = less visitors. They did that with telling a few jokes and funny sentences: Yesterday it became very late. That is why we are very tired. singer Frank said. Claudio and Steffen altogether: Nope! 🙂 The quintet was very sympathic because of that. And even they are very good in playing their instruments. DARK SKY gave us the full load of hard rock! With humor, the band also took the fact that they shortened the setlist:

Keyboardist Claudio Nobile jumped off the stage, shouted a few times: We want more!, clapped his hands and clapped his bandmates´ hands, too, and got another song with this. So DARK SKY rocked a further song  Finally the end came shortly after midnight.
It is a pity that DARK SKY couldn´t have 60 people in the audience like the night before in Heilbronn… Hopefully next time…
