MAYHEM announce new album “Liturgy of Death” – 40 years of absolute darkness

MAYHEM, universally regarded as the most influential Black Metal band of all time, return with their 7th studio album, titled “Liturgy of Death”.

Delivering over 45 minutes of brand-new material, “Liturgy of Death” also stands as a long-awaited 40th anniversary release, tracing the band’s legacy since their formation in Oslo, Norway in 1984 and reaffirming their untouchable status as the pioneering force behind the global black metal movement.

Four decades after igniting the Norwegian scene and permanently reshaping extreme metal, MAYHEM continue to push forward without compromise, remaining as relevant, dangerous, and uncompromising as ever.

“Liturgy of Death” was officially released on February 6, 2026.
