This is my the second adventure with music of MYRATH. The previous album “Desert Call” made a huge impression for me. And I so many expected from “Tales of the Sands” … I will not hide that I was not disappointed … MYRATH shows a very unconventional approach to Metal music. Especially that their compositions are very strongly impregnated by the oriental themes presented by the ethnic rhythms and the scales (especially Arabian). MYRATH perfectly consolidated “European Metal music” with oriental melodies. Their compositions are an excellent combination of guitar heaviness and energy of Metal with the traditional songs and the instruments.

The music is very originally melodious and climatic and also is sharp, heavy and dynamic. This contains a lot of the patents of classic Power Metal as well as the expressive elements of Extreme Metal… It is really strong and dynamic but sometimes is melancholic and also balladic. And the singing of Zaher Zorgati oscillates among the Power Metal and Folk. The Progressive Metal's glance caused that works are very developed with the complex melodies as well as rhythms, they outright are virtuosic.

I have no idea – How traditional instruments were used but the combination of sounds with the heavy licks of guitars and melodies of keyboards made that the whole sounds very totally, and by the way is very spatial. Furthermore the futuristic sounds of keyboards and various samples were woven into the whole of Folk Metal giving in addition the modern accent for the whole.

Some interesting people were help in the production and the mixing of the album – Kevin Codfert (ADAGIO), Fredrik Nordstrom (producer of DIMMU BORGIR, IN FLAMES) as well as Jens Bogren (producer of SYMPHONY X).

I've always liked Folk from the Middle East. And the works of MYRATH materialized my deepest dreams about the fusion of Metal with the climate of the Orient. So ,MYRATH is the notable partner for ORPHANED LAND. MYRATH proved it at common concerts.
