Deathcore in its idea,is a genre which synthesise hardcore with death metal. Still young and mostly fresh metal subgerne has earned some die hard fans around the whole globe. Indeed in France also, so now in late 2008, we have an opportunity to check how, and what, the french deathcore elite form DILUVIAN may prove on their own scene.

To be honest, I have never heard about a deathcore band from France. From Poland yes, even from Russia, and of course US and Germany. France is like a virgin in the metalcore/hardcore society, so now it's time to make a virgin snatch, and show that We (the frenchmen), have also something to say!

So now, take an ear of DILUVIAN. These guys are strongly influenced by American deathcore bands like THE BLACK DAHLIA MURDER or BELAY MY LAST, or even German masters from HEAVEN SHALL BURN and… what is not so commnon in deathcore at all, by UK death metal gods from BOLT THROWER. I'm impressed.

So what DILUVIAN is? Hm… as we propably all know, deathcore is basically a genre of blastbeats and breakdowns. DILUVIAN is not an exception of this rule, and they fully show that fast tempo, furious blast beats and massive neckbreaking breakdowns are not unknown for them. Sounds typical? Not really.

DILUVIAN is more than deathcore, they are more brutal death metal than core but for sure, all typical features for deathcore genre are still in their creation. Morveover, as I mentioned, DILUVIAN is also influenced by BOLT THROWER. It is just only my opinion, and my view of this, but DILUVIAN also consist some specific groove, characteristic for BOLT THROWER. Slower, and really melodic parts (!!), are full of some melodic Swedish death metal ish, and also in my opinion it is a plus.

However DILUVIAN is so fucking brutal, I cant imagine how do they smash their audience on shows. I hope that mostly their gig crowd is detroyed, and torned into little pieces. Good, hard, brutal piece of French shit. All who are not interested in brutal subgenres of metal will not find anything for them.

Fans of THE BLACK DAHLIA MURDER, ALL SHALL PERISH, HEAVEN SHALL BURN should get this stuff immediately!
