The album begins with some instrumental creepy intro. And when only I heard this one, I knew it was going to be good album. Beside this one first opening track, the rest of songs is full length and filed with devilish black/death metal. The guys know what is all about, the music is sharp, dangerous, and brutal, just as it should be. Of course there’s nothing new in this music, that we didn’t heard yet, but, who cares? You know I really like that kind of music, fast brutal, sometimes maybe even quite simple, but with good ideas, played with great technique, and what is the most important, the music must have this strange something. The climate , vibrations. Listen for example truck number four – Descent of the holy, it’s one of the best track on this CD, the same as Unleash the wolves, which have plenty of great riffs, and good solo. Tempos? Well, fast as hell, because it couldn’t be any other. Sathanas has created really burning album, filled with 100% metal.
As I wrote earlier there’s a lot of good riffs and interesting arrangements. We can find here fast, intense tempos, characteristic for Norwegian Black metal, but also right next from those mad screams, there are some brutal growls and extremely heavy guitars. Great vocals, great guitars. And drums. Hell yeah! This is it. Ok maybe it is not yet next Tony Laureano but you know, Jim has made here a lot of great job. And it’s clearly to hear. Production is well done, and fit to this music and style. Generally it’s clear, but not to clear, there’s still a little of some unclean, and I think it is even good. All instruments are well balanced, and I think this album sounds just as it should.
Coming to an end. It’s good album (didn’t I say it yet?), and if you are fan of some fast and brutal mix of black and death metal (I must admit that this mix is also well done, it sounds really natural) you should definitely give this album a chance.
