Holy Shit! And at this point this review could just end. This two words is all I have in my mind after experiencing with “Love’s burial ground”, album of Italian Forgotten tomb. I was expecting many things from this record, and it didn’t disappointed me at all. More, it’s even better than I was predicting. OK, but for those, who don’t know yet this band at all, music that is created by those Italian psychos, is variation about some ultra climatic and misanthropic black metal mixed with doom metal style slowdowns and riffs, and some progressive elements. To say it more simple, for me this is just great doom based on black metal (yes – not death, but black metal!). This record possessed me for two last weeks, and it’s not going to change it soon. This band is exactly what I was looking for, for quite long time, and finally I find it. All those impressive very deep riffs, al those sick vocals, amazing arrangements, it’s all just perfect. We can hear in this music real passion, but also real madness (Alone!!!). In it’s own strange way, this music is so frightening, cold, and sick, that it just make it beautiful. And finding beautiful in true horror, isn’t it first step to madness? Of course it is, but there is no any other way to react on this music.
And for a long time I didn’t heard so climatic production. For me this album is more true, more frightening, and more deep, that all silly official releases coming from big bands and big labels. In confrontation with Forgotten tomb, they have no chance to stand and survive. This band reached top of madness, darkness, misanthropy, and I’m hope that they are going to stay there.
The musicians are really good, they know how to use their instrument. It’s not just a simple music. It’s really complex, with some great progressive arrangements. The shortest track (besides intros) duration is almost six minutes, and longest is over thirteen ! And you know this is long album. But not for me. I think it’s just another proof that album is extraordinary. Every time I’m listening really great music, there’s no matter how long it is, it’s always too short, and I don’t even know when it comes to an end. The same thing is with this record. Fucking magic, that is all around you, and there is nothing more.
In fact there is no single bad side of this release. Everything is perfect. From phenomenal music, to great production. For some quite underground band, it have really good sound. Clean, sharp, but also might and straight. All instruments are clear heard, and exposing what is the most important at the moment, great trans riffs, intense drums, or dangerous vocals.
And in the end I should write, for who this music would be. I think there is no matter are you listening black, death or any other metal. The only real important thing is, do you like music extremely dark, misanthropic, frightening and making you rally fired up and sad. Thanks to this music you will experience with all most intense feelings, especially those bad ones. And I think it’s the most important thing in this band. I can say just two more thing. On your knees, and MORE!!!
