Cool songs: Connected to the Confusion, Betrayal Wears Your Face, Ward 77

The beginning of the band is dated to 1995, but almost eight years later the group managed to record their first full-length album, titled ‘To Cure the Sane with Insanity’, which gained enthusiastic comments. Since that time, some changes in the line up occurred, the drummer and the bassist left the band, making vacancies. After a short period of time the two-piece band gathered a new squad and started writing new material. Last year’s ‘We Deserve Much Worse’ is their third long play.

After listening to his album, a question arises: why do WE deserve much worse? Maybe DEATHBOUND deserve it? Their newest album is just another brain-smashing heavy butchery, with some slighter elements, allowing to take a deep breath and prepare for more crushing noise. From the technical point of view, this album is very good, fantastic technical death metal with a huge dose of butchery, fleshy growl and riffs, furious drums, and audible bass – everything cooperates smoothly and builds an image of crafty musicians. But there are two sides of each coin – and the second one in this case is the content – DEATHBOUND very often work like a copying machine. The compositions are short and powerful, therefore it is hard to find the difference between them. Sometimes the riffs and drum fills sound more ‘punk’ although such variation is just silly. The constant repeating kills this album.

Such record is like a black and white photography, even the reversing of the colors on the negative does not change much. Probably when playing the CD backwards, where would not be any difference.
