The band was formed in 2005 in Sant Boi, the municipality in the province of Barcelona. The Spaniards already have some achievements, they released one demo and two full-length albums before.

The dominant content of “Nyctosphere” is aggressive, often extreme metal, but at the same time melodious. I would classify this music as black metal, but not gloomy and nor dark, but technical with speed paces.

The musicians mastered their instruments very well. The guitarists have no problems performing difficult parts, and they create interesting melodies and solos. The drummer is extremely efficient, he not only drums quickly but also uses his instrument in a rich way. The vocalist sings harshly, he can express various emotions, such as hatred, anger, despair.

The songs are long, although there are only six, the album lasts 48 minutes. The tracks begin with atmospheric intros that use electronics profusely. The intros are not based on one idea, each of them has its own individual sketch. The compositions have dramaturgy and they contain numerous changes of rhythm, melody, oscillation between very fast and extreme playing, interwoven with short calmer moments of breath. Despite this, in the long run, the tracks on the album seem too homogeneous, a bit tedious to listen to in long time.

I think, the music I would describe as sterile, there is lack of power and darkness.

STAINED BLOOD plays in a specific style that you just like or not. It’s a type of metal for those who mainly seek speed in it. This is not music for everyone. But nowhere is it written that everyone have to play the same. In the niche, “Nyctosphere” is a successful album.
