ART OF NOISE FESTIVAL – NILE, KREATOR, VADER, AMON AMARTH, GOATWHORE

Well, once again here in El Paso in another metal show. A little bit sad because the rumour of Samael, Cathedral and SYL was only that, a rumour. But whatever, this show made me happy again. This combo was really cool, but oh man!, entering club and what happened? NO STAGE!! really! NO FUCKING STAGE!!! Even in the worst underground shows I have been to there were a stage!!! I really damned that club for that and I suspected that the show could be crap. But fortunately, that didn't happen.

First band to appear on scene was GOATWHORE, a band from USA, specifically (as they said) Louisiana. This guys started the fire on concert with their black/death metal with a bit of DOWN' style. Vocalist sings in similar way to Anselmo's Down and sometimes clear vocals, with some help of guitar player who sings in a more blackish style. Good appearance, but the best was to come.

Next group was AMON AMARTH, the vikings from Sweden, with the sorpresive appearance of big viking vocalist Johan Hegg on stage (hahahahahah, there were no stage!, He climbed onto some boxes that impede people to pass to the floor where the bands played). They started with a song of their new album called “Death in fire”, a really cool song (maybe because reminds me Hipocrisy, and i like it a lot). Despite Amon amarth it's not in my list of favorite bands because their simplicity and style, they played great (and maybe I have to check at least the new album). The entire band climbed up to the boxes, so was kind of cool to see that.

VADER take the “floor” next, with their death metal a la old school. I've read in many magazines and webzines that Vader were really brutal and impressive on stage, and they get right; this polish guys truly have the flame of the old school, pure raw and destructive energy!

Then, a favorite one, KREATOR (i feel pity for myself, watch Kreator for the first time on the floor!). Mille and company started their show with Violent Revolution from their new album. Without a doubt, experience here counts a lot, so they did a great job, playing classics such as Renewal, Phobia, People of the lie, Extreme aggresions,Pleasure to kill and Betrayer. Mille said to audiende that we deserve much more than a floor (Mille, you rule! and had your mouth full of right).

Finally, that guys appeared, NILE. I have to admit that I wondered why Kreator were not the final on the alignment; but, for fuck's sake, Nile proved their majesty. Nile kick asses and played like demons. With songs like Smashing the Antiu, Ramses bringer of war and Black seeds of vengeance they made tremble all the building. They use a pc to brought ounds of keyboards and others to add a very pro effect on the music. Without a doubt, Nile is a Leader in the extreme metal kingdom.
