Hailing from Germany, MachineMade God plays their own brand of German metalcore. Formed in early 2003, the band has been able to showcase their energetic stage performance by supporting numerous renowned national and international acts such as God Forbid, Caliban, Heaven Shall Burn, and As I Lay Dying.

I don't know where all these metalcore bands are coming from or how they immediately sign deals with some of
the biggest independent labels in metal but after releasing just one demo, MachineMade God went to Denmark to record their debut album titled “The Infinity Complex” in April and May of 2005. For a producer they chose Jacob Bredahl of Hatesphere, knowing he was the right person to achieve the sound they were looking for making this effort one brutal metal record.

Machinemade God's songs are mid-tempo and harmonic pieces that on some tracks take away from a heavy or brutal feel. The band generally offers a few passages combining melodic metal leads with a brutal mosh edge but they slow down the song and the record becomes stale after a few minutes. The vocalist offers angry shouts with a rough touch but regretfully he leaves out any clean singing. They sound like every other metalcore band and to my ears, they definite need more individuality.

This German outfit pours out slabs of metal down on unsuspecting listeners. Each song, from the crunch-laden brutality of 'Kiss Me Now Kill Me Later' to the scintillating 'Your Own Fault'. Vocalist Flow Velten spits his personal sermons over the top with the sort of venom and bile you’d demand from a vocalist in this genre. The only real problem with 'The Infinity Complex' is that if you’ve heard more than a couple of albums from this genre you find your attention span rambling off midway through the onslaught.

I don't know who’s been waiting on this “much anticipated” album but don't kill the messenger for not giving “The Infinity Complex” a “fair shot”. What do I know, there could be a cool riff or two buried in there, but finding them isn’t worth clawing my way through the ad nauseum vocals that metalcore is so repleate with. Metalcore junkies may eat this stuff up!
