Cool songs: Lahinguväljal näeme, raisk!, Kui meid sőtta sőrmitie, Sőjahunt, Merepojad, Hundi süda sees, Alle-aa, Hiiekoda

‘Hiiekoda’ is the first full-length album released with the support of Nailboard Records. With this album, the folklore from Estonia finally started conquering the world. Better not to waste my words on redundant introductions… the further content is much more in demand.

This power strike by guys from Estonia is an obligatory must for everyone, who even once or twice in their entire life heard some folk metal stuff. And here, METSATÖLL create their fantastic style by simple operations: classic metre reinforced by an army of folklore sounds and instruments. The whole album sounds just perfectly: the sound is very fleshy, I just wanted to suck that juice out of it. The music on ‘Hiiekoda’ is not super fast, as in other such productions, it is rather lazy, but does not lack in power. It builds a raw and windy climate of the Baltic Sea. The whole is kept in a heavy convention, with very strong bass lines and supporting guitars. All of the songs are performed in the Estonian language. And the last thing… a little pearl: a cappella choir preludes to sub-zero heavy songs are fantastic!

METSATÖLL is a more noble and upper shelf version of KORPIKLAANI or FINNTROLL. If you have had enough of church-fair sounds, clothes and atmosphere, if you are ready for a real adventure in the Slavic land, try it. And I tell you, you have got my word, you will not regret even a second spent on listening, not even a dime on purchasing it.
