This Spanish heavy metal group is a little pearl in the crown, as for the performance, because every little thing is performed in Spanish, so I am unable to understand a word. What is more, the same is with their official site and myspace profile. So there is enough of the information about them, but it is incomprehensible for such laymen as me. A request to the members: hire a translator! You should be ashamed of such incompetence.
What can I say, I really fancy heavy and power metal, and LA HERMANDAD are typical representatives of these genres. Their music is fast, quite heavy, dynamic, melodic, and very rhythmic. On the other hand, the pace and motifs do not change as often as I wished, but still, they play a kind of interesting metal. Which, in fact, is a bit too delicate subtle gentle. Heavy metal is something raw, fast, which faces your balls to the wall, kicks ass. And in here, this feeling is abstract, it seems that LA HERMANDAD know such words only from the dictionaries. Fortunately enough, they do not sound like the ladies from HAMMERFALL (whew! A relief), but still more power is in demand. Hence, the music has got a slight advantage over other such productions, because it creates a past-Catalonian mood, it is soaking-wet of Spanish motifs. And that is cool, you will not hear flamenco, but poetic violins or organs. And the whole sounds pretty good.
LA HERMANDAD play nice music, performed interestingly, quite catchy, although not powerful enough and last but not least, not innovative. But still, they deserve a listening, because some ideas (fantastic guitars in Tu Disfraz) are quite compact and fun.
