Finally normal, but fabulous power metal that is pretty awesome! UNCHAINED from nice Sweden are exactly what you expect from good old Swedish power metal. With their self-titled debut album they definitely have a new fan: me! J For some people Unchained could be too usual. But sometimes less is more. Per Karlsson´s voice can convince me in any way as well as the instrumental work of the rest of the band and even the songwriting qualities are wonderful.
Officially the band was founded in the year 1999 by David Blome, who is in charge of the guitars. Since that time they have released a promo called Like the candle (2002) and a single My guide (2004) and now we can finally listen to more: Unchained (2005).
UNCHAINED almost won the Musik Direkt Competition, if there would have been a hip hop act (!!).
Next UNCHAINED are going to have a concert at this year´s Kristiansopenfestivalen and a support place before Mercenery and even a headliner concert, after they bring a pretty good live experience (for example the Sweden Rock Festival).
The line-up is as follows: David Blome and Peter Ericsson work with the 6-string guitars, Per Karlsson uses the microphone, Martin Michaelsson has got two nice sticks in his hands and Mattias Osbeck has got the 4-string bass in front of his belly.
These 5 guys bring a melodic and metallic side to light that you can mostly compare with, yes, compare with what?? Somehow I have got the opinion, I have already listened to that CD, but not in that version! Very melodic and very powerful at the same time, these Swedish metalheads around a powerful singer celebrate a big party. The choirs give the special kick to that stuff! Great!
