SEAR is a five piece band out of Finland and “Begin the Celebrations of Sin” is their debut release on Dynamic Arts Records. They combine melodic Death with brutal Satanic Black Metal for a devasting sound.There are no weak spots at all and if you like Finnish brutality and Satanism, then pick this up.
After an eerie intro the cd kicks into “Lobotomy With A Crucifix” and sets the tone for the brutality to come, with driving blast beating drums and seering, blood curdling vocals mixed with headbanging death melody. “Scythe Of Blashemy (Kiss the Goat)” begins with awesome rhythm, crashes into blast beating Black Metal, then returns to melodic, drum kicking Death. “Mankinds Last Breath” slows it down just a bit, but “Vade Retro Deus” continues the punishment and “Temptations of the Flesh” exposes the perversions of the church in a most perverse Satanic assault. “Monument 666” is my favorite track, laying down a slow pounding melody, then kicking drums and screaming and screeching lyrics describing a visual of Hell, behind some seering lead guitar. “Blindfolded Fuck” blasts right in afterwards and kicks and pounds your ass the rest of the way before giving way to the more rhythmic “Viimeinen Voitelu” to finish you off with good screaming, melodic Death.
If you like Satanic Death Metal, then you'll love what Finland has to offer here.
