Here is the Spanish tetrarchy…

The split is opened by JUDASWIEGE, the band founded in 2016. They have a demo, an Ep, and one single apart from this split. Their blasphemous and madly furious compositions are deeply embedded in Black Thrash Metal’s canons. Very sharp and painstakingly fast arrangements are very destructive and in addition in the old-school style. This duo leaves no any illusions or any compromises. You will hear only the huge storm of dark and possessed synthesis of Thrash and Black Metal. They’re literally shreding up! An interesting fact (for me, because I’m Pole) is that JUDASWIEGE cooperates with the Polish label Godz ov War Productions.

MORIBUNDO presents themselves as the second band. They have existed since 2014 and a few years ago they released the full album “Raíz amarga”. Their name means “dying” from Spanish and in fact the music they present is like “dying”, but it is not sudden and rapid death, but rather it is long and slow dying, in pain and in agony. The crushing heaviness, powerful growls and slow pace are enriched with calm keys or melodic licks to create a colossal Spanish-speaking Doom Death Metal. MORIBUNDO with JUDASWIEGE’s members connect the another band called BIZARRE.

SÖNAMBULA from Bilbao was founded in 2015. They have two albums “Secuela” and “Bicéfalo” and in the disc they turned up the tempo, but they still remained mainly in the atmosphere of heavy and powerful Doom Death Metal playing (a bit like in Swedish Death Metal style), at times getting ready for fast Death Metal moments. And the polyphonic growlings and screams as well as the distorted bass additionally intensify the sinister and brutal atmosphere of the whole. An interesting fact is that a woman plays drums.

The album is end by the oldest band, BARBARIAN SWORDS, which has been around since 2011 and they released 3 full-length albums so far. The band presents the fusion of Black and Doom Metal, that is perfectly audible in their compositions, which introduce a very slow and gloomy and at the same time macabre mood with a bit psychedelic elements. The arrangements are very sinister, they are hypnotizing and at the same time they lacerate by the guitar’s phrases, which unleashes a violent hurricane in some places. In turn, specific melodies sometimes create a very depressive and even nihilistic atmosphere.

This split is an interesting idea, especially that each of these bands presents a different variation of extreme Metal.
