Here I got a Lithuanian magazine to review … As in the past I was co-editor of the paper underground magazine Born To Die'zine I always am willing to look at the current amateur newspapers. And when I noticed that DIOVIM is from Lithuania, then my curiosity was more large…

At first glance, the magazine looks pretty good – colour, cover by coated paper, A4, the portrait of a gentleman (perhaps it is Nostradamus) is on the cover with mentioned bands (which you will read the interviews in the following pages). Rather the first page of the magazine did not refer to the musical association… I feel lack of the important information inside the cover and on the next page – that there is no information about the year of this issue, who is the editor, there is no contact address (even an e-mail). I also feel lack of table of contents (because I don't want to chaotically paging during searching of favourite article)…

And what we will find inside? I am terribly sorry that I do not know Lithuanian, because when I was browsing the pages, looking at various photos, drawings and names of bands then I began to wonder about the content of articles. Photos of the teams are pretty good quality (black and white). The wallpapers also appear under the text of articles, however it does not blur the whole of text. Generally it is very clear and readable (although sometimes the font is really too small for my tired eyes). It would be better if the magazine was in English. But I know the problem if an editor need to send a magazine for someone overseas, the shipping cost may even exceed the cost of the magazine (of course it is appurtenant with other country)…

Of course, various interviews with teams dominate here – from around the world, presenting the various species of Metal (and even Rock – MOGADISHU, REBEL EYE, ROADKILL). Interviews usually are short, but there are also the longer conversations (HAEIRESIS, AGONIJA, CRYPTS OF DESPAIR). It also is worth to mention in # 3 that we will read the a brief conversation with Aaron (MY DYING BRIDE), the interview with KAMPFAR and CARPATHIAN FOREST. In addition, the many interviews with bands unknown for me are here, with the interesting photos, for example ANUBI, CEMETERIUM, BLACK CANDLE, HELHEIM, CHEMICAL ASSAULT, LIFE'S EDGE or the presentations of really old Mexican boys-bands like CRAZY LAZY and TOXODEATH or the interview with a radio presenter of music programme – “Audronasa”.

Unfortunately, I counted only 18 reviews. But in addition I found the articles, like “Marriage traditions of ancient Lithuania”, “Retro-kaleidoscope” (a strange article with the interesting photos), “Ines de Kastro” (the article about the Princess of Portugal, whose body was exhumed posthumously, then was crowned and then the people were forced to donate a tribute) and a few articles but I can't decipher their meaning. The section of contests is also interesting, such as “Miss Darkness” (featuring photos of pretty girls – probably fans of Metal, contest lasts until 10/01/2012).

In general, the whole looks well (unfortunately, only 24 pages). I regret that I can't evaluate the content of magazine.

For the end of review I will quote the sentence of DIOVIM's editor: “And no, it's not Nostradamus on the cover, anyone who will guess who is that, will get next 2 year's magazine issues for free”…
