Probably ANANKE presents songs created for a goddess. I mean – for a woman The songs very melodious, melancholy, full of romanticism and nostalgia, outright balladic. Although like is in Power Metal, besides sweetening, there also are the phrases very dynamic, heavy and motor, in which the guitars strongly sound, stimulating the whole corporeality of listener – with the strong rhythms and sometimes with growl or shrill screams. However the majority of motifs are created by gentle singing and by considerable dose sublime melodies of guitars and keyboards, outright in style of neo-classic preludes – energetic and masterly or very climatic as well as fabulous (I think about parties of keys particularly).
The compositions from the diary have pretty complex structures. And every work possesses the leading melodic line and something catchy, characteristic To be honest, ANANKE rather duplicates subjects of such bands like HAMMERFALL, BLIND GUARDIAN and STRATOVARIUS. But in present times the musical similarities and duplications almost are inevitable, especially if the band plays some classic kind of Metal.
Sarcastic people could say, that ANANKE plays for girls and romantic youngsters. Maybe it is the truth, because for me – the man in half of way between 30-40 years old – this music does not such impression already, what the music would make some time ago.
