Metal Jeers Productions is a Polish label and zine, managing mainly with brutal music. In 2005, the team from Bialystok decided to gather the essence of the local brutal scene and release their works on a compilation album. Thanks to them, the bands could take part in a music competition and appear on the official scene.

As mentioned above, this compilation will interest only the most devoted and tenacious fanatics of brutal and fleshy grind metal. The idea is of noble origin, and deserves a pat on the back, although the problems start to appear after several songs, when the listener starts to realize, that the compositions sound more or less the same. DOMINIUM and APOKATASTASIS are the only groups who actually have a coherent idea how to perform music, which is totally different from the rest. Their sound is more innovative, more interesting, and more mature. The rest is just a grinding pulp, but performed according to the standards and indicators of brutal metal (bulldozer growling, fleshy guitars, extreme sound, etc.). But it does not grip the soul, does not crush the heart, does not smash the brains. Good technical and powerful grind compilation, but with small dose of variety – this shows, that the bands from Podlasie have great potential, but still copy the ideas of their friends next door. And to finish with an enthusiastic accent, ‘Now You’re Mine’ deserves a further note, as it is the one and only ambient composition recorded on this album, and also closing it. It brings some freshness into this bone yard, and too bad, that there is only just one pearl in this pile of skulls.

The greatest weakness of this compilation is its aim – only grind metal fans. It is an obvious choice, as for Metal Jeers deal mainly with such music, but it would do better if there had been some more accents as RED EMPREZ. Maybe some thrash or heavy stuff would do just fine and this compilation would have gained an universal dimension, therefore more people would have been interested in it.
