Cool Songs: Child Of A New Generation, Formed at Birth, Murder U.S.A.
“Formed at Birth” is the second release from Swiss death metalers, Requiem, this time on the German label Revenge Productions. It's pure brutal death, but very melodic. It's got awesome growling vocals and blast beating drums abound, but the guitars are very rhythmic, making for some good headbanging.
“River of Blood” starts the banging in furious fashion. This is not your usual European Death. It sounds more like Miami, USA with it's melodic pounding. “Child of a New Generation” has blast beating galore, but kicks into a nice beat for moshing before returning to blast your head off. The vocals are absolutely brutal and the rhythms are heavy as shiiiaaatt!!! These guys rattle the f**king roof! “Mind Control” is an awesome head pounder and the title track is a brutal grinder, also with some good headpounding, fist pumping rhythm. “Alone” is a melodic stomper with thunderous drum kicking and “Sentenced to Death” shows a Swiss brutality that you probably never thought existed. I've never heard The Swiss like this!!! “Murder U.S.A.”, “Kill-Fuck-Die” and “Living In Misery” round out this slaughter in heavy ass melodic Death fashion, Swiss style!! It's like Cannibal Corpse and Monstrosity in a furious fist fight!!
This is a brutality I've never heard from Switzerland and I'm surely loving it!! A rhythmic pounding that I can't get enough of! They have a newer release this year called “Government Denies Knowledge” and I'll be running out to pick this up. Where the hell have these guys been hiding? There are a couple of other 'Requiums' out there. Don't be confused. The Swiss one is obviously the best.
