HELL-BORN „The Call of Megiddo”

HELL-BORN „The Call of Megiddo” - okładka

If you are a fan of heavy music, but tend to be turned off by bands who’s vocals aren’t clear, or just don’t like the typical gutteral belches that most death metal bands possess, then you might want to pick up HELL-BORN. The vocals are very easy to understand and it doesn’t take you long to memorize the lyrics. It’s hard to explain what they sound like, but probably the best way is a sort of raspy yell.

There is, however some gutteral growl here and there throughout the disc. The music is heavy with a sound not used by a lot of death metal bands. I like the sound that they have because it is a sound somewhat distorted but not too much. They have many moshable rhythms and they also have plenty of spastic speed beats throughout.

HELL-BORN has their share of melodies during the 8 tracks on the Cd. They don’t just rely on break-neck speed to get their message across. If you listen closely, you’ll hear elements of other bands incased in some of their musical writings. They’re not ripping them off, but they are combining several sound elements from other bands to make their own incredible, diverse sound. On the musician side, they deliver some brutal tracks, mixing black and death metal into their own mold. It took me awhile to like HELL- BORN, but the more I listened to their music and lyrics, the more my ears liked what they were hearing.

You might like it and you might not. Only you can decide. I see nothing but good things for the future of HELL-BORN. Dark lyrics along with heavy riffs and clear vocals should open doors for the guys in HELL BORN.
Can’t wait to hear more from them in the future.
