This Pennsylvania-based quartet has been feeding the depraved appetites of gore-hounds since 1988 and Beyond Recognition proves further cause to rejoice. These guys are raw, old-school death/grind in the vein of Malevolent Creation, Entombed, Grave, etc. which is pretty cool considering the masses of modern death bands focusing entirely on breaking new ground. The throat-splitting guttural vocals of Paul (Corpse God) Miklos would shake lose the best of fillings live (9 out of 10 dentists do not approve). Although firmly anchored as a death/grind band, the keyboard work of Dave Turner adds a dismal, almost progressive twist; unexpected for most bands of the genre. Anyone hungry for death/grind served-up old-school should definitely check out this CD.
