Necrodeath songwirter once said that he prefers Slayer more than Black Metal (Which Necrodeath normally has inspired and are compared to), and that shines through on their latest studio effort “Black as pitch”. Typical og violent Slayer Riffs are used on the cd, and especially on the first number “Red as blood” are the inspiration from masters obvious. Even the title smell of Slayer, cause who doesn't remember the excellent “Blood as red” from the Seasons in the abyss album????
But now it should not all be about Slayer, because “Black as pitch” also captures other inspiration from Necrodeath – with Kreator and Destruction as the most obvuis. The cd reminds me of their comeback album “Mater of all evil”, and of the bands 80's albums. That means monstercatchy Black thrash, which are so wellplayed and well produced that you wouldn't believe that the band has residence in Italy, if you didn't know. Necrodeath rules and the same goes for “Black as pitch”
