DISSONANT „Darken The Hour E.P.”

Mainly nu-metal for sure with some modern death metal influences. Pretty much sounding like Deftones, Nothingface and In Flames. Some synthesizers find their way into the concrete wall of sound and besides the very chunky riffs some mellow arrangements are to be heard. The hardcore-kinda vocalist sounds a lot like Earth Crisis and the melody man sounds a little like Mike Patton of Faith No More. The melodies are not catchy though but the emotion is there for sure.

Since their formation in January 2001, Dissonant has dominated the metal scene in their hometown of Grand Rapids, Michigan, and is making their extreme metal mark in other markets across the Midwest. Regularly selling out local venues through their intense promotions, Dissonant delivers a crushing live sound and stage show that has been compared to the likes of Fear Factory, Killswitch Engage, and Poison The Well. You gotta believe it, cos this is heavy stuff! Too bad the production is a little poor and doesn't represent the intensity these guys have on stage. Their musical skills and energy have given them the opportunity to perform with bands such as: Hatebreed, Glassjaw, Five Pointe O, Dope, Mad At Gravity, Integrity, 216 (a side project of Mushroomhead), Will Haven, and 3rd. Strike.

9 out of 10 and good luck guys!
