CRADLE OF FILTH „Damnation And A Day”

CRADLE OF FILTH „Damnation And A Day” - okładka

After listening to the new C.O.F., I came up with 2 words to describe their latest offering, “Epic Masterpiece”. Having sighed to Sony before the start of the recording process, C.O.F. took full advantage of being able to spend a little more money to make what could be the door-opener for many Black Metal bands. They went out and hired the 32 piece Budapest film choir and 40 piece film orchestra. Everything about this Cd is brilliant. The concept story within the lyrics, which made me look at the booklet, so that I could read the story being told. The music is totally intense. Being sighed to a major label didn't make them hold anything back.
Screeching, Growling, Barking vocal's surround the heavy guitar's and flawless drumming and keyboards. The choir and orchestra are used at just the right time in the Cd, with several little instrumentals leading up to the next song. The production is great throughout. The Narration is provided by Dave McEwen, and The Lead angelic voice by Sarah Jezebel Deva. The combination of the narrator, choir and orchestra makes you think at times your watching a fantasy movie of dragons and wizards, but that all changes when the actual music starts. Then it sounds like the end is near and this is the soundtrack to the end of mankind. Hopefully C.O.F.'s latest onslaught will sell well and other labels will see that Black Metal is for real and should not be ignored. And they sigh some of the other great B.M. bands that are out there. Let's keep our finger's crossed. If you are a CRADLE OF FILTH or Black Metal fan, you probably already have this one, if not blow out those candles and head to your local record store and get this one. If your not a FILTH fan, you should check this one out, you don't know what your missing.
