Probably many people are already familiar with SILVER DUST. Although they have recorded only four albums since 2013, they have already announced themselves, for example at over 100 concerts, twice with LORDI, then with MOONSPELL, ROTTING CHRIST (also in Poland) or BATTLE BEAST. However, this year, at the end of April, they will start with another concerts promoting this album, “Lullabies”, starting with Switzerland (including supporting KISS in July), and yet in June at the huge Rock Imperium Festival in Spain, along with a lot of metal-rock stars such as SCORPIONS, EUROPE, WHITESNAKE, DORO, JINJER, BLACK LABEL SOCIETY, AMORPHIS, AVANTASIA, or SODOM and others… Apparently they make a theatrical show at their concerts! But how could it be otherwise, since SILVER DUST brings a lot of steampunk and Victorian inspiration to its being, especially the influences of Tim Burton’s movies!

And this type of inspiration perfectly harmonizes with Gothic Rock / Metal. However, it is not typical Gothic Rock / Metal. Of course it is filled with a melancholic and dark atmosphere, full of catchy guitar-keyboards and of vocal melodies, which strongly affect to emotions. Sometimes even they are very romantic, like in style of HIM, other times it’s very sad. In turn, the combination of gothic guitars with choral accents creates a very sublime atmosphere.

But SILVER DUST can also hit harder with its music, heavy guitars and a more predatory mood, which is additionally emphasized by the ominous vocals and sinister melorecitation. This definitely brings the band closer to MOONSPELL. And when there are synthesizer sounds, samples and highly rhythmic riffs, the music undoubtedly shifts into industrial-metal-gothic atmosphere. However, these are not the only stronger blows. Nu-Metal or Metalcore accents are additionally noticeable.

In the music you can also hear “Burton’s” inspirations, grotesque acts, bizarre melodies and vocals. The combination of powerful Metal with Swing. And the emphatic choral-symphonic elements give to this grotesque a more elevated mood, the enormity of pathos.

The last track is the orchestral and symphonic version of track “Forever” from the previous album “House 21”.

SILVER DUST like to surprise with their compositions, they like to play with the created mood. The arrangements are very extensive and changeable. In one song we encounter many musical themes that are perfectly integrated with each other. The melodies of the compositions are very catchy, they pull you along and they does not let you to sever with this album. Many melodies stay in your head for a long time.

“Lullabies” definitely does not put you to sleep, and sentimentally it triggers a lot of emotions that will not let you fall asleep!
