Country: Switzerland

Some time ago I wrote that Switzerland is a very important country for me. That is why I have great sentiment for everything that is Swiss. Of course for bands too. DEVILSBRIDGE comes from the Canton of Thurgau, which I know only from driving along Lake Constance…

The band is basically young, they haven’t got a full album yet. But the EP is enough to show the power of this band.

This is another band from Switzerland with a woman on vocals. But the vocals aren’t like melancholic-operatic singings, but they are solid and strong rock-metal singings with an interesting, rather low, aggressive timbre enriched with male screaming choirses, clearly emphasizing certain moments.

The slightly lowered tuning of the guitars and the appropriate dynamics of the riffs make this music powerful with a lot of motor energy. The songs are very rhythmic, stimulating and of course very modern (in the sense of “contemporary”) with clearly emphasized vocal-guitar melodicity. Such a mix of Grunge music with Groove and Nu Metal with lots of guitars riffs, melodic licks and clear motifs of bass guitar and massive drums.

Each piece has a distinctive feature. Intro, melody or refrain make the songs are very catchy.

The whole thing is wrapped in a delicate darkness and slightly sprinkled with melancholy.
