This band was formed in 2009 in Dublin. Two band members have native (for me) names and surnames, but I do not have information about their relationship with Poland.

“Bringers of the Dark Sleep” is their first serious release. Earlier they released two demos in the world. The album has an interesting graphic design, using the image of the mythical Athena and other iconographic motifs of ancient Greece. Thanks to the skillful selection of colors and artistic skills, the visual side of album works on the imagination and it encourages you to listen to the musical material. And the style that the Irish quartet presented on its debut album is brutal death metal.

However, the message of the Wolf Legion does not convince me in whole. The tracks are varied in character. Apart from the aggressive ones there are also calmer, like “You Shall Know”, which is metrical, dignified (although it is still death metal). Whereas “Sorrow Made Madness” emanates darkness. The guitarists and the bassist are efficient musicians, but not on a virtuoso level. Almost every track has an interesting solo. The drummer in many moments gives shows of his skills. The vocalist shout up and make growling in an expressive and varied way, sometimes with a good complementary of second vocal. Unfortunately, apart from well-composed and made songs, there are a few weaker ones. The successful one is the title track. It starts with the sound of a burning bonfire and mysterious sounds, then comes aggressive death metal with a galloping rhythm of great drummer and with a large variation of tempos and melody. And in addition with two interesting guitar solos for this. At all times with thrilling dynamics. However, e.g. “Brothers of Fury and Iron” has the features of good, “not extreme” death metal, but as a whole it is monotonous and tiring.

My opinion is that the band’s slower songs come out worse than the fast, aggressive ones. Irish people should improve composing slower songs or concentrate on brutality. I will also add that even in those successful fragments of the album is lack of some element of originality, something that would distinguish the horde from Dublin. All in all the album is satisfactory, but there is still a lot of work for the Irish people.
