ABSINTHE – the name intrigued me. Despite so many the bands take the similar name of this legendary liquor… Many years ago the absinthe often was drunk in some hermetic society. Later the drink was forbidden… and at present it is permissible and is very commercial, although it still is mysterious… I have several bottles of absinthe and I know his taste as well as the effect of several forms of this liquor (even of the home-made from Swiss farms)…

And the band? Italian ABSINTHE plays six years. And the line-up was changed after the release of the album. I think that this band reflects the present commercial form of “the green fairy”. The taste of this music gently revels in without the hallucinogenic proprieties and without the high – grade hits and the capacity of thujone is very low for sure here… But I expected something different (at present they are 70% productes under the name “absinth” like in Slovakia)… Despite all this music is fine, nice and pleasant.

This is such sedate Rock playing with calm feminine singing, sometimes lightly sharp (with male's insertions) and with the heavier hits of guitars as well as with the accents of keyboards… The Rock playings – very melodious with considerable dose of melancholy in balladic climates… And the whole is covered by the gentle darkness and the lightly psychedelic aftertaste.

I begin surrender myself for action of this musical substance during the longer listening these compositions… The calmness goes to the sleepiness… and later I feel the dynamic hits… and then again the calmness came back… and such is alternatively… Some songs are able to emancipate the pretty strong emotional exultations… The majority of compositions are in English language but and the pieces of Italian language also appeared there… The music of ABSINTHE perfectly fits to listening at a night… when we can not to sleep and we have willingness for a bit of nostalgia.
