Third album of technical death metalers from AMORAL is a total blast. They've gone for a slightly different approach, their melodic sensibilities pushing to the forefront a lot more often than usual – and that's amazing. Filling brutal death metal with a cathy melody or even clean vocals thats something new . I don't mean clean vocals, though they do have those buried in the background now and then. It's more in places on most of the songs where there is a space to fill, letting a clear guitar line lock in with power chord slams instead of nonstop crazy riffage and brutal blast beating reminding DECAPITATED. And in stark contrast, a lot of times the solos are working over isane riffs worth their attention – check out 'Nervasion' and 'Few and Far Between' for evidence. It's obvious they want to make their songs bit different each time. Melody is only an adjustment to brutal and highoctane riffage.

Finnish metalers have their own inborn feature – they love metal with melody – and even they are playing brutal and not flexible music it is so cathy that you wont feel it is death metal or a technical masturbation on guitar.

Album has a lot of variety, breaking neckdown riffs, brutal blast beating and up-tempo groove, clear and very hamornic solos, deep throat growling and march breakdowns. All this mixed into one piece – a metal album. Only exception of sick and marvelous playing is… an instrumental song. Really interesting and flashy. Sometimes it sounds like the brutal metal version of RUSH mixed with perhaps… TEXTURES? (technique!!).

If you like mordern technical death metal oriented onto melody just pick up AMORAL's – Reptile Tide.
