Peter and Mathias, two friends from another Swedish band, KRISTOS MORTIS, came up with an idea, to leave the group and form their own, and that is how SUICIDAL WINDS came to being. The bands name was taken from CELTIC FROSTs song title, and it seems, that it will be stuck with the group forever, as more and more people associate it with those guys. Since 1992, SUICIDAL WINDS have recorded fifteen albums, including four full-length releases. Total Death NLive was recorded mainly during Festung Open Air 2006, in Germany.
And this live performance contains all of the best songs, the group could have gathered throughout several years of performance. All in all, interesting choice, and recording a live album in such a coincidence, is a good idea. But the whole procedure failed, as the music is closer to the shapeless pulp, than sound. The performance is powerful, but the extremely-rare reactions of the public leave no doubts, that they like it. Moreover they indicate, that this performance was not pulverizing at all. Not to mention the horrible acoustics and there we have a picture of how-not-to-make-live-shows-albums, with all its indicators. The vocalist is trying hard, but he is unable to grip the audience – if that is how they manage to draw their attention, it is reasonable to have doubts about their studio albums.
The final judgment can be done as such: SUICIDAL WINDS can be compared to a bears fart, as they sound the same and there is an identical amount of power in both of them. Who knows, maybe they even are the same thing.
