This band from Illinois is very often compared to groups like GARBAGE, EVANESCENCE or THEATRE OF TRAGEDY. And I really do not know why. I:SCINTILLA and their psychedelic grooves should be classified somewhere else, for example on the more electronic scene.

And even that sweet feminine vocal cannot save ‘Havestar’ from being only a good album. First of all, everything is mixed and mastered very well, the technical level (if such exists in case of industrial) is very high and the compositions original, in their own way. What is more, sometimes those compositions are close to techno, which is quite dangerous. And here all the superlatives end, because the rest is just a total hammering of the same – a few songs performed in different ways, now what an original idea, just fantastic. The artists did not manage to escape from that techno convention, where the ideas copy themselves very often. This album simply lacks some power, which could drag you to the local music shop to buy it or any others resembling it. The vocal lines help to swallow this bitter pill, but does not save the compositions from boredom.

Such albums are hard nuts to crack, because it is quite difficult to classify them properly, there will always be someone who will tell you, that this is not what you have thought it was. If you are just an electronic music fan, do not bother to get it and visit the nearest music shop and ask for KLAUS SCHULZE.
