Demented Honour – 2006

For years, Erol Sora has been thinking about something: a solo album. And here it is: „Demented Honour“ of his band SORA.

After so many tours with URIAH HEEP singer John Lawton and a lot of activities together with people of SURVIVOR or QUIET RIOT, Sora started his project in the year 2004. The result is a  grounded hard rock album with the master himself on the guitar and on the microphone. His band consists of Lanc Chalmers on the drums, Kevin Dahl on the bass guitar and Gregory Macdonald on the organ.

The American quartet plays traditional hard rock consisting of compositions and lyrics of Erol Sora.

Unfortunately the first happiness about a good rock album calms down. After the opening track „Highway to nowhere“ and the following song „Guilty“, the list of the good songs of the CD comes to the end.

Good and heavy, „One way ticket“ sticks out. Well, totally seen, the band is better in playing fast songs like „Broken dreams“ and not the midtempo stories.

A bluesy ballad finishes the 10 track album: „Rain“. But this song sounds a bit heartless…

Unfortunately this is not more than a middle-class hard rock album.
