LOST SOUL „Chaostream”

Have You ever wander how should modern death metal sounds like? The answer comes with new album from Lost Soul – Chaostream. What can I say, this music have everything what’s best from the past, and put it into great, new place. The songs we find here are fucking heavy, brutal, with great climate, and extremely interesting! To be honest, there’s not even one bad track, all here is played with heart and mind.
And what exactly its’ mean? After few first contacts with this CD, I  fought that Lost soul remind one great band, one from the best – Morbid angel. And of course there’s no way to say that they are coping them or something, there is no one similar riff, talking about common things we rather must say about the way that Lost soul’s music is created. From the one hand this music is extreme in every possible ways. Guitars are very dense and played with fury, solo parties are excellences and build great climate. Drums are fast and devastating. Drummer is making huge work, cutting every song in many pieces, but all the time it is much more then just beating everything what he have. Drums parties are built with passion and intelligence. And of course vocals. Jacek is owning one of the most inhuman voices I had heard. He’s just like vary frustrated bull being on tomato’s plantation, so you can imagine this. And from the other hand, this brutal and quite complicated music is played in very natural, easy way. For me it’s obvious that, they are not calculating how every single part should looks like. The band just play, and music comes straight to us.
I wrote that new Lost soul album is similar to Morbid angel music. I think exactly about Gateways to annihilation. Sound of Chaostream is heavy, but also clear. We can hear easily all instruments, and all together they are creating amazing effect.
Every single song shines with excellent, there are no boring moments in all album. The band is great in both: extremely fast and extremely slow parties (listen 7th track – Christian meat!!). Music is quite technical, but it still have what many others band will never have – climate.
All in all – this is really outstanding album. Great death metal, which I would like to hear every day. And to be honest, if we compare Chaostream and Heretic – the truth is not to good for M.A. For me there is only one choose.
