PLAN E are from Finland. Beside band founder Jani Lehtosaari, who founded the band in the year 1995, other famous musicians for example from IMPALED NAZARENE (drummer Kimmo Luttinen or also Heikka Haataja) belong to the project.
The third studio album called Best kept secret which was recorded for the Italian label My Kingdom Music is definitely dark wave and no metal. While listening to Best kept secret something attracts your attention: Where are the guitars? Instead they work more with the bass guitar (Jani Lehtosaari, Ilari Kinnunen and Lene Leinonen) and also with the keyboards. Distantly you could compare PLAN E with DEPECHE MODE. And a bit of NICK CAVE & THE BAD SEEDS is inside as well..
And this is my PERSONAL opinion:
You can imagine, there is someone trying to sing after being awake for around 60 hours without any sleep and the rest of the guys play something slowly. The keyboardist took some drugs and besides that everything sounds identically… The result: Sleeping feet are more musical But: There are always a few people who like something like that! J So, no offence meant…
That thing with using the bass guitar for melodies and not for the rhythm I heard better from someone else. Somebody may give the title sad due to Jani´s singing, but it appears more boring than sad.
You can also find a video clip of the song Shadow in the dark additionally. It embodies despairation, it is pretty sick, but it animates you to think about it.
