Cool Songs: Made Of Iron, Never Deny Your Fate, Gates To Purgatory

Made Of Iron is a new heavy metal band from Germany. They were founded in December 1999 from two Greek guys who live in Germany and until 2001 they used to be an Iron Maiden cover-band, something that is more than obvious in their music. So, after 2 demo releases and one 7’’ single we have their debut album out now through Sonic Age Records.

They are in the vein of early Iron Maiden and Judas Priest. Traditional heavy metal with only a few power metal influences. Fortunately, they didn’t remind me of new power metal bands from Germany. They are stuck in the past with a good meaning. Heavy guitars, melodic riffs and a very stable rhythm section. I have to point out that I really like the use of their bass guitar in some of their songs such as “The Alchemist” and “Time To Repent”. Their only disadvantage in my opinion is their vocals. They are good but I had to listen to Made Of Iron several times in order to get used to them. If you are not the greatest fan of heavy/power bands you may not like them. But their music is really good. The whole atmosphere they create reminds me of the Iron Maiden albums with Paul DiAnno. The production is very good and this is very important for a new band.

To sum up, “Made Of Iron” is a very good album of melodic traditional heavy metal and if you are into this style or would like to remember the very first days you were into metal you have to check it out. And with an album like this Made Of Iron allow me to expect more things from them in the future. I hope they will not let me down!
