KREATOR, DESTRUCTION

This was a night that almost didnt happen. It came down to the wire with everyone that was to go calling off all but one so I had someone to make the two hour drive with and I was very glad that we did. The Trocadero Theater is a old movie theater in the heart of Philly that is 120 years old and still going strong. Not a very big place but not to small just perfect place for the bands to get one on one with everyone. Destruction came on with full force paving the way for Kreator. I had not heard Destruction for a good while but knew they where still around and I tell you they have not lost any of there punch. They hit the stage with a fury that is not heard from many bands any more. The drum sound would cave your chest in with every lick along with the bass. Lead guitar was a display of brilliant speed and brutality. I would travel again to see these guys the next time they are here in the states.

Kreator is a band that has not been in the forfront of the speed/death metal world due to more commercial bands like slipknot, slayer, and other major known bands of the past ten years but they have stayed true to there roots and not changed. The true metal underground has been kept alive with bands such as Kreator. The set list consisted of songs from the latest disc VIOLENT REVOLUTION all the way back to there first album. they blanded all there sounds from thrash/speed to the thick crunchy riffs that would all but crush your skull. All in all this is but far the best speed/death metal show I have had the chance to see in quite some time and I am waiying in anticipation till the next time I can see ether of these bands. If you didnt get a chance to see these bands on this tour since this was the last show on the us tour you missed a GREAT show. All out assault on the senses is the best way for me to sum this show. AWSOME!!!!!!!!!!!!
