VIRGIN STEELE

September 21st was a night of not knowing what i was in for I had never been to the Lamour Club before. JUDGE DRAIN was one of many bands that night but only one of three that really stood out besides the headliners VIRGIN STEELE. JUDGE DRAIN is from central New Jersey and they get there sound from METALLICA, KORN, DISTURBED, and MEGADETH. They are a very confident band on stage and have a big future. There presence on stage was strong and they delivered a strong set just way to short. This band has opened for bands such as DIO, OVERKILL, and SAVATAGE. The next band that cought my eye was GOTHIC KNIGHTS. They are a band from Brooklyn NY so this was a local show for them. They give a strong and confident performance as before just to short. Anyone into early ICED EARTH will like this band. Can be contacted at gothicknights.com.

Another band that just blew me away was ZANDELLE. They are a power speed metal band with a great vocalist. They remind me of a cross between HAMMERFALL and ICED EARTH. They can be contacted at zandelle.com.

Now for VIRGIN STEELE I have been waiting for years for the chance to see these guys and they didnt let me down. For a small club the energy the band give off was tremendous. The set list consisted of old to the newer stuff from there last disc in 99. Attention was given to every part of the club and you felt as though you was the only one the band was performing for. ENERGY ENERGY ENERGY is the best way to sum this show up. To top all after the show lead singer David DeFeis gave his time to the fans for pictures and autographes. In a time when its hard to get close to your favoret metal bands along comes Virgin Steele. Cant wait till the next show or the next cd. This was a show that was worth the drive from central PA to Brooklyn New York.
