What can be said about SLAYER that has not already been said? I reviewed the last DVD release for this band and gave it high marks as I am going to do with this one. This performance here was the firs time that the band had ever performed the REIGN IN BLOOD disc track for track as they appear on the CD as well as six bonus tracks from the same show. This is a wall of furry and sound that hits you square dead in the face from beginning to end as does every slayer show. There are no special stage props or computer light shows here just the raw power of the band and the music. There may not be any fancy stage props in this show but there is a wonderful surprise for the end of the show when the title track is being performed.
The band has brought in a special sprinkler system to be erected above the stage that when turned on showers the band with theatrical blood by the buckets. This effect is something to see for it has never been done before. The band will also be taking the sprinkler system with them on the fall tour and yours truly will have the chance to see it myself when the band visits Philadelphia PA the 18th of NOV so be watching for my review of the show as well. The best way for me to wrap up this review would be to say that if you are a SLAYER fan go get your hands on a copy of this fine piece of history by a historical band.
