Put another notch in the belt for German power metal. StormWarrior hails from Hamburg Germany. A town that has given us bands such as Grave Digger, Running Wild, and Gamma Ray. Im not real sure how long this band has been around but let me till you they have been around long enough to catch my attention. The music on this disc is well crafted and very tight. The song content consists of a mix of ManOWar and Gamma Ray. The artwork on the cover and the music blend well together with both being fantasy oriented. The band consists of players with names such as Evil Steel, Hammerlord, Thunder Axe, and Scythewelder. The guitarest handles the lead vox and does it well along with the fast tempoed style that he plays.
The disc has two guest players on it. Dirk Schlachter of Helloween and Kai Hansen of Gamma Ray along with Kai Hansen doing the vocal work on the song Chains of Slavery and since we are talking about Kai Hansen he also produces the disc so yes the sound is very Gamma Ray influnced in the vocal sound and over all sound but yet has a sound of its own. So anyone out there Into the Old Helloween or Gamma Ray sound along with a small twist of Iron Maiden and Old Iced Earth will enjoy this new band. Take a listen to this band you will not be disapointed at all. For a new band on the rise I give this disc a 9 out of 10.
