MEATLOCKER SEVEN „The Biological Mechanism of Hate”

This is a disc that got my attention as soon as I heard the first guitar lick. I do not have much info on this band but you can trust me I will be looking this band up for future work. SLAYER & COAL CHAMBER is what can be heard here in heavy doses. The music on this disc deserves to be heard. Thick slabs of crunchy guitar work teamed up with a vocal sound of pure hatred with a growl that is very convincing and full of attitude. The bass presence on here is thick and deep which gives a great backdrop for the guitar work. Lots of great rhythms and chops as well as quite a few hooks that will just drag you in by the throat. The drum work could be a little meatier and of richer and deeper sound. The speed is there but the production and mix on the drums is just not what it could be. When this is corrected then this band will be a major force to be reckoned with. They have a great sound and are heading in the right direction for total distraction. There are times on this disc that I can hear a slight hint of CATHEDRAL then they proceed to get right back into the speed and crunch. A very dark and moody disc with a lot of great guitar sounds with a vocal growl that is rich and deep. A must have for fans of the early but slower SLAYER sound as well as COAL CHAMBER with a dark vibe to it. Only due to the flat drum sound this disc gets a 7.5 out of 10
