Calvarium is a new band which have signed to the also new Dynamic Arts records from Finland. The first impression was excellent as this release comes in a very well designed digipack edition with very well-designed artwork. But music is what counts, right? Calvarium are into black metal and they manage to have a personal sound from their debut album. There are always influences from bands like Emperor, Ancient and Gehenna but the band has a strong personal I.D. and this is good. Promising is the least good word to describe this album. It has the advantage that you do not get bored with it easily. All songs are very good and those which I liked most are “Horns of hate”, Death worship” and “Dedication in misanthropy”. I suggest you all to try to listen to this album if you like black metal. I predict Calvarium is a band that many people will talk about it in the future. Very well done guys!!!
