MANOWAR „The Triumph Of Steel”

Music: True 🙂 Metal
Cool songs: Power Of Thy Sword, Demon's Whip, Master Of The Wind

Every band has it's better albums and worse. For some we can wait for years. Sometimes after few years since the release of the previous album, the band finds strenght to make a new one. So did Manowar. After very good „Kings Of Metal” they have changed line-up and finally in 1992 released new CD. I'm talking here about „The Triumph Of Steel”. Some people say that this is the opus magnum of Manowar. Let's see.

It starts with „Achilles…”. It lasts 28 minutes, and I think that 20 minutes too much. Why? Because whole track is a combination of few good moments, lots of chaotic bass solos and a drum solo. It should be an epic track but instead it became boring. Be serious! Can you resist that much of dull soloing? I can't.

Despite the first track, there are few killers here. Beautiful and epic „Power Of Thy Sword” with it's incredible break. Heavy thrashy „Demon's Whip” which at the end is faster than speed of light. Nice and fair ballad „Master Of The Wind”. „Metal Warriors” is really good too, but that stupid, cheesy lirycs spoil the whole thing. I can't stand all that shit-talkin' about true metal, wimps, pozers. True Metal?

However, there are few really average tracks here. They hasn't got this magic which you can find in, for example, „Power Of Thy Sword”. I consider the ending of an album as most interesting. Everything else is worth one, maybe two listenings. But the last three tracks deserve to be played very often.

If you are looking for a good Manowar release, try „Sign Of The Hammer” or „Kings Of Metal”. Only the most addicted to Manowar, shall buy it.
