Every once in a while, I find myself needing a break from listening to Extreme music. I think I have found the perfect remedy for that break. That needed break is with LACUNA COIL. Once the music starts it reaches out and grabs a hold of you and you just can't get enough. LACUNA COIL's latest release “Comalies” is simply amazing. The only flaw is that even though it has 13 tracks, to me that isn't enough. Oh well. Andrea Ferro provides the sometimes aggressive male vocals for the band. His voice is sometimes raspy while other times he just plain proves that he can really sing. Cristina Scabbia is the voice that really grabs you. Her voice is as beautiful as it is enchanting.
The combination of Andrea and Cristina are backed by Guitarist Cristiano Migliore and Marco Biazzi whose musicianship is top-notch. They provide some of the most trancing guitar work around. The rhythm section of Marco Coti Zelati on Bass and Cristiano Mozzati on drums are flawless in their time changes. They give the guitars room to explore the earth so that the voice of Cristina can pull you in, only to have Andrea's vocal attack hold you there forever in their clutches. This is a must have Cd if you need to escape for awhile. Just turn out the light's, light a few candles and then be blown away by the beauty that is LACUNA COIL.
