7th Nemesis is a very brutal death metal band coming from France. This being their second release, a split CD with Punishment on Skull Fucked Productions. The prior release was a 3-song promo CD, which was a very good, feel of what is to come. 7th Nemesis brings the death right into your face with every song. The opening track (Vitriol Made Flesh) starts extremely heavy and it doesn't let up. Death guitars, double bass, mass screaming, almost reminding me of Aborted. This audio sensory rape doesn't stop until track 4 (Blood Drops In Heaven) starts. And now we hear that 7th Nemesis can also play clean music as well. No screaming, no palm muting, no double bass… Don't worry the whole song isn't like that 🙂 It speeds back up and continues to kill you where it left off earlier. After hearing these 4 songs, I can't wait for the full length 9 track CD (Violentia Imperatrix Mundi) to be released!

Punishment, a death metal act from Austria is the second half of the split CD from Skull Fucked Productions. Now what we have here is not as brutal as 7th Nemesis, but this does not say they don't bring the pain. Punishment brings the grunting death metal growls to you, along with riff heavy guitar playing. This band is for people who enjoy more oldschool death, with a groove. But then you hear track 8 (Bullet Time) and now we have some kick your ass metal. Both of these bands will be on tour in the near future in Europe. Be sure to check them out.
