New music label Tanquam Aegri Somnia, presents us split between two bands from black metal art area. Both crews exist about few years and have a several records on own account. Belgian Cult Of Erines registered to date one EP and one album, while Turkish Zifir released two full-length albums. How they play?. Let's place our ears and get into the hellish abyss.
Belgians of Cult Of Erinyes presents us three songs, and from the first second you know it will not be given to us to relax. The massive and overwhelming wall of sounds, heralds Armageddon horns. Trance guitar work, pulsating devilish energy of rhythm section, keyboard flourishes and schizophrenic vocals stick nails straight into our skulls. Extremely fast and damn atmospheric. You don`t find here twisted progressive convention. Ruthless extreme play in the honor of Beelzebub. That how sounds the first two songs of guys from the Cult Of Erineyes. The third and final song of the Belgians, in turn, is a little different, smashing the chosen path, as sonically dense and dramatic as the previous two, begins with climate intro, followed by a huge blast, go to the end of the medium-tempo, diversifying her terror and anxiety. More than a quarter of hard-hitting, filled with pure evil and insane sound portions.
Turkish Zifir in contrast to their colleagues, prefer a slightly different approach to the subject of black art. Guys like to play with convention and arranging songs. Black metal was performed by Zifir is much closer to the bands like for example: Mayhem, that their playing is more atmospheric and complex at the same time in its concept. The sound is cold and industrial, causing a pleasant pain in the ears,otherwise industrial influences are very distinct in this record, making it very interesting to listen to. Cutting metallic guitars riffs and vocal acrobatics are the greatest feature of the band sound vision. Frequent change of tempo, a variety of guitar riffs and samples provides a large dose of originality. Unfortunately, it is just over ten minutes of entertainment and the disc ends up causing a slight deficiency, so I think you need to listen the two previous releases of Zifir team to fully understand the concept of black metal from the Turkish regions.
In summary, this is an interesting split of two quite interesting crew, presenting a different variety of black metal madness. Cult Of Erinyes wallows in the traditional approach to the subject, while Zifir will experiment with form, becoming my favorite, but in general it is known that one man like vodka and one prefer glass of beer. Split is a short form, so fitting to take a look at both releases of hordes to reach deeper into the essence of these teams.
